Magnuson Tuition Bucks Program
- Every Magnuson family is encouraged to register for the Magnuson Tuition Bucks program on the www.shopwithscrip.com website. A 4-digit account number will be assigned to each Magnuson Christian School (MCS) family for Tuition Bucks account tracking. This number can be attained from one of the Tuition Bucks coordinators or the school director.
- Each Magnuson staff member or family including potential Magnuson families will receive a copy of this policy at the beginning of the school year or at the Information night if a prospective family. A tracking form will be kept to ensure every current MCS family/staff member has received this policy. Each family or staff member will be acknowledging they have been given the opportunity to read and follow the Tuition Bucks program policy. All MCS families are strongly encouraged to participate in the Tuition Bucks program to earn money for a child’s tuition account and to support MCS.
- Family and friends are encouraged to order certificates/gift cards through our program. They may register for their own account online at www.shopwithscrip.com using our Enrollment Code: 82LC7E4E157LL, and your family’s account number as part of their last name (i.e. 9000*Smith). You can also place orders for friends and family under your own account. When registering, participant is responsible for entering the correct 4-digit account number with asterisk before their last name, with no spaces. If no account is designated or account number is incorrect earnings will be directed to the MCS General Fund.
- Parents looking to the future and planning to enroll their children at MCS can also participate the year prior to a child’s enrollment. These families will be assigned an account number and the Magnuson Tuition Bucks program will hold the monies earned until their child begins school at MCS.
5. The Magnuson Tuition Bucks program will hold program earnings. The accounts will be reviewed in January and July of each year and earnings accumulated from July 1stthrough June 30th will be credited towards the first tuition payment due for the nextschool year in August. A statement of earnings and amount applied as tuition credit (or other account earnings) will be provided to families and staff that participate by the 15th of July. Any discrepancies must be brought to the attention of one of the Tuition Bucks program coordinators within 30 days of the statement date. The first tuition payment is the 15th of August each year.
- The Magnuson Tuition Bucks program is being offered to promote Christian Education at MCS. If your child(ren) will no longer attend MCS for whatever reason, the monies held in your family’s tuition account will be transferred to the MCS General Fund, or if received in writing this money can be credited to another family’s tuition account. All written notices must be received within 30 days of the time the child(ren) leave the school.
- All certificate orders must be paid for through the ShopWithScrip’s online PrestoPay option or with a check made out to Magnuson Tuition Bucks. Cash not accepted. Checks are due in the school office by Noon on Fridays. If a check is returned for insufficient funds you will be asked to pay the fee that the Tuition Bucks account is charged by the bank. Tuition Bucks payments are not tax deductible because the participant receives dollar for dollar value and rebate money is used for tuition credit.
- During the summer months when school is not in session Tuition Bucks will continue to run weekly. Only online orders and payments are accepted during the summer months. Since school is not open, checks are not accepted. Certificates must be picked up during summer operating hours designated by the Tuition Bucks Coordinators.
- Program gift cards/certificates are purchased on your behalf, and are not returnable. Check the card details on the ShopWithScrip website when shopping for possible limitations and expiration of certificates for their retailers. For example, some retailers may allow you to pay credit card balances with gift cards and others may not or cards may not be eligible for use in all states.
- All certificate orders will be placed in a business size envelope and placed in the backpack of the MCS student designated on your ShopWithScrip profile. Please also list the current GRADE, not teacher name, of the designated student to help our volunteers distribute certificates correctly. If you have more than one student in MCS, it is recommended that you designate the youngest student to deliver your certificates. This includes any family or friends who order under your account number.
- Program certificates/gift cards are the same as cash, and should be handled accordingly. Neither the Magnuson Tuition Bucks program nor MCS is responsible for misplaced, lost or stolencertificates delivered by a student or mailed to you.
- When you receive or pick up your Tuition Bucks order, please open it immediately and verify its accuracy. In the unlikely event you should find a discrepancy in your certificate order, please contact one of the Magnuson Tuition Bucks program coordinators within 3 days. You can find the Tuition Bucks Coordinator contact information on the Magnuson School’s Tuition Bucks web page.
- Certificates are also sold at First Lutheran Church (FLC) on Sundays year-round. First Lutheran Church has agreed to give 90% of their rebate earned to the Magnuson School’s general fund. Their remaining rebate will be used for mission purposes deemed appropriate by the church. MCS families are welcome to purchase certificates at FLC on Sundays and the rebate for your purchase will be credited to your Tuition Bucks account.
- Occasionally Great Lakes Scrip Center (the distributor) will temporarily run out of gift cards for a certain vendor and will be unable to completely fill our order. In this case, you will be notified as soon as possible.
- The Magnuson Tuition Bucks Coordinators reserve the right to make changes to the Magnuson Tuition Bucks Program as needed.
