We believe that parent involvement is very important and for the 2012-2013 school year, parents will be asked to volunteer for a minimum of 20 hours. This could be as a lunchroom/playground supervisor, working on a fundraiser, helping a teacher with classroom needs, working in the school library, and in a variety of other areas. A family member may volunteer for your family. We hope that this will allow each family to be directly involved in the school and it will allow parents to get to know each other, as well as reduce the tasks for all families.

Look for volunteering opportunities in Sycamore about mid-October.

Families will also have the opportunity to make a payment in lieu of volunteering if it just will not work for their family to put in 20 hours.

For the 2012-13 we require that each family contribute at least 20 hours of volunteer service.  In order to receive credit for the time you have served as a volunteer you will need to submit your completed time in the Sycamore Education system.  Click here for instructions on how to do this in Sycamore.

Thank you very much for your cooperation and patience as we transition to the new system.
